Week 2 Afterparty

What a debacle... There were some monstrous performances in the NFL this week and
some crazy games that went down to the wire, but both of those became just a footnote for Fantasy Football. You'd be scavenging for a potential replacement to trade an opponent, only to realize you lost one yourself.

And these are just the examples for multiweek injuries with available replacements. Week 2 saw Davante Adams, Sammy Watkins, Jimmy G, Cam Akers/Malcolm Brown (Darryl Henderson 👀), and a ton of defensive players all leave the game, along with players with lingering injuries to monitor.
Thursday

What you Like: Nick Chubb 25.8 pts, Kareem Hunt 23.10, Odell Beckham 15.4, Joe Burrow 24.54, Tyler Boyd 16.70
What you dont like: Joe Mixon 10.6, AJ Green 4.4, Jarvis Landry 6.1
Something to Think About: This Cincinnati team is gonna have some lumps. The defense is abysmal and somehow the offensive line is worse. Joe Burrow being forced to throw the ball 61 times Thursday gives him the volume to be fantasy relevant, albeit inefficiently. Tyler Boyd and RBs Joe Mixon and Gio Bernard should benefit in the short game.
Sunday

Ryan Tannehill 26.76, Jonnu Smith 22.4, Corey Davis 11.1, Gardner Minshew 25.46, James Robinson 19.5
Derrick Henry 8.4, DJ Chark 10.4
Something to Think About: Thats pretty much the floor with Henry, which is not bad. You don't complain with 25 carries. Jaguars played the run aggressively allowing Tannehill to continue his run of atleast 2 TDs since Week 6 last year. James Robinson is giving me Alfred Morris vibes... Potential every week RB2 that went undrafted.
Panthers 17, Buccaneers 31

Leonard Fournette 25.6, Mike Evans 19.9, Christian McCaffrey 22.8, DJ Moore 16.00, Robby Anderson 13.4, Mike Davis 11.5
Tom Brady 9.68, Ronald Jones 9.7, Scotty Miller 2.2, OJ Howard 1.6, Robert Gronkowski NADA
If you felt good watching Ronald Jones stiff arm his way into the endzone, that probably didnt last long. Leonard Fournette established his claim to the backfield throne pretty quickly. Itll be interesting to see if this continues. Mike Davis caught 8 passes as an injury replacement. Should be a great PPR replacement.

Josh Allen 34.48, Stefon Diggs 25.3, John Brown 16.2, Ryan Fitzpatrick 24.32, Mike Gesicki 23, Devante Parker 13.8, Myles Gaskin 11.2
Preston Williams 5.1, Zack Moss 3.7
The Buffalo backfield will end up with better days with Josh Allen improvements in the deep passing game. Myles Gaskin (16 carries and 10 receptions on the year) is the back to own in Miami.

Dak Prescott 39.80, Ezekiel Elliot 19.2, Dalton Schultz 17.3, Ceedee Lamb 14.5, Matt Ryan 28.52, Calvin Ridley 26.4, Hayden Hurst 15.7, Russell Gage 13.6
Michael Gallup 6.8, Todd Gurley 6.1, Julio Jones 3.4, Atlanta Fans sad
What a game. Michael Gallup seems to be the odd man out after 2 weeks. I would not worry about it, the Cowboys offense will continue to move the ball all season and targets will even out.. although thats not to say going forward Ceedee is trending up to a weekly starter. Russell Gage should be rostered in all leagues. Matt Ryan might end up leading the league in passing yards. Calvin Ridley (22 targets) > Julio (16 targets) hmmm... 🤔

Diontae Johnson 19.2, James Connor 19.1, Chase Claypool 16.2, Noah Fant 15.7, Melvin Gordon 15.4
Juju 8.3
Based on volume Diontae Johnson is the WR1 in Pittsburgh (23 targets!). James Connor laughs at all the doubters (me) following up a bad week 1 with a dominant performance. Mapletron Chase Claypool is a deep league option. With Sutton out look for Fant to be leaned on heavily along with Jerry Jeudy.

Jonathan Taylor 18.0, Mo Alie-Cox 13.6, Zach Pascal 9.4, Dalvin Cook 16.1
TY Hilton 4.3, Nyheim Hines .9, Adam Thielen 4.6, Kirk Cousins 1.52
Minnesota is in a rut. The lack of defense will force them to throw but man... Kirk Cousins should improve after this game, impossible not to. Not too many players I value more than Jonathan Taylor (28 touches this week). Nyheim will have better days.

Jordan Reed 20.5, Raheem Mostert 17.7, Jerrick McKinnon 13.7
Injuries, The Jets
Frank Gore has deep league considerations, but thats about it for the Jets while Jamison Crowder and LeVeon Bell are out. Jordan Reed (7 catches on game leading 8 targets) may be worth rostering even if Kittle returns to play. Shanahan knows how to use his weapons, and while his team has injuries I am sure he wont keep Reed in the shed.

Tyler Higbee 25.9, Darrell Henderson 19.1, Miles Sanders 18.6
Carson Wentz 14.38, Zach Ertz 6.7, Dallas Goedart 5.0
The Rams RBs will continue to mess with our heads. Tyler Higbee was a top 10 player overall from week 11 on. Looks like hes trying to continue that. Philadelphia doesnt have much too look forward to after this game, however they should be satisfied with lead back Miles Sanders. Desean Jackson (Game leading 9 targets) is worth a look.

Aaron Jones 43.6, D'Andre Swift 9.7, Kerryon Johnson 9.2
Carson Wentz 14.38, Adrian Peterson 4.1
Davante Adams got hurt in this one, but early signs are that it was more precautionary. We might have seen the performance of the year already, as Aaron Jones is coming up with a teflon case to be a top 5ish paid RB. D'Andre Swift (on pace for 64rec and 600 rec yards) might be the back to own in the Detroit backfield after all.. we just didnt think hed be less Barry Sanders but more Theo Riddick.

David Montgomery 20.2, Darnell Mooney 10.1, Dion Lewis 13.6, Evan Engram 9.5
Allen Robinson 4.8, Tarik Cohen 3.2, Dallas Goedart 5.0, Daniel Jones 8.74, Darius Slayton 4.8
David Montgomery (29 Carries on the year) is a volume based RB2 but he looks significantly better than last season. Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman are both must adds to pick up for Saquon.
Washington 15, Cardinals 30

Kyler Murray 33.14, Deandre Hopkins 16.8, Terry McLaurin 22.0
Kenyan Drake 10.5, Logan Thomas 4.6
Kenyan Drake had 23 touches to Chase Edmonds 6. The volume is there so keep plugging him in your lineups. Hopkins (on pace for 176 catches 🤯) and Kyler (on pace for 1264 yards rushing)... There might not be a better stack in fantasy.

Patrick Mahomes 27.48, Travis Kelce 19.5, Tyreek Hill 19.3, Justin Herbert 23.24, Austin Ekeler 16.8, Joshua Kelley 12.3
Clyde Edwards-Helaire 10, Mike Williams 2.4,
If I am a Clyde owner I am feeling relief. We saw him follow up a 0 catch performance with 6 catches this week. Joshua Kelley needs to be owned in all leagues (35 carries in the 1st two weeks)

Mark Ingram 14.7, Brandin Cooks 12.0, Darren Fells 9.3, Jordan Akins 9.0
Lamar Jackson 17.56, JK Dobbins 6.6, Mark Andrews 3.4, Deshaun Watson 15.7, David Johnson 6.0, Will Fuller 0
Mark Ingram said not yet rook. Will Fuller followed up a great performance with absolutely nothing. Apparently he is dealing with an injury, so be on the lookout.

Russell Wilson 34.42, Chris Carson 18.3, DK Metcalf 17.2, Tyler Lockett 16.2, Cam Newton 35.58, Julian Edelman 21.9, N'Keal Harry 11.2
Will Dissly 1.4, Sony Michel 1.9
A battle between the number 2 and number 4 QBs this week. Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf (scored the first TD on Stephon Gilmore in over 2 seasons) are certified must starts. If I am a Cam owner, I am trading the QB I have in front of him and starting Newton every week. He is back!
Monday

Darren Waller 22.3, Alvin Kamara 33.9, Trequan Smith 11.1
Henry Ruggs .9, Drew Brees 15.48
Just win baby. Upset of the week is fitting for the new stadium opening. TE rankings ROS probably look like Kelce, then Waller. Thats it... Brees will have better days, this was simply a monstrous performance from Alvin Kamara, who might be the top player in fantasy football ROS. Kamara is on pace for 24 TDs rushing and 1168 yards receiving.
